Poor Baby :(

What a sad face:

Victoria has a really bad cold. Danny had it first and was nice enough to pass it along to her. She is so miserable :(
She stayed home from school today and hopefully will feel better soon :)

An Alien in my bed??

Dan has always had sleep problems, there has been times I have had to touch (ok smack) him to get him to start breathing again. He FINALLY got tested and it turns out he has issues with air in and out. He had over 50 apnea episodes during the test. So he now gets to wear a Bi-Pap machine to bed :)
Very attractive!!!! It actually is much quieter than I thought it would be and the best part is no more snoring!!!
The kids are just fascinated by it :)
Hopefully he will finally get a good nights sleep :) :)

Victoria's First Day!!

My babies are so grown up!!!

She had a rough time getting to sleep last night, she was so excited!
At 9:30 I went up to see what was going on and found her leaning up against the wall outside her bedroom with her eyes at half mast. She had climbed over the gate in her room but I guess could not climb back in. I asked her why she was awake and she said she didn't know. I took her gate off and put her back in bed, she was asleep in 2 minutes. I felt so bad for not checking on her sooner but I was waiting for a commercial to come on for BB11. :( I decided to leave the gate off her room and we are going to focus on getting her to stay in bed in her room.

As I was leaving her room I stepped on something in the playroom. I found a pillow, blanket, mat and her babies lined up at the top of the stairs. She must have been sleeping there and when she heard me coming up the stairs ran into the hall outside her bedroom. :(

First Day!! Fa La La La LA!!!!!

On our way to school!!!

Happy to be heading back to the classroom after walking the track!

After seeing Danny off to class Victoria went to meet with her new teacher and see her new classroom. She is very excited for Wednesday :)

What a great dad - not too many paint sparkles on toes :)

My dad and his wife sent these - aren't they beautiful!

Both kids thought the butterfly was real :)

My dr's office called today to check on me :) I am FINALLY getting some of these fluids off me! I thought I had lost a bunch of it and weighed myself yesterday am and found I was 20 pounds over my presurgery weight!! I wish I had weighed myself when I got home from surgery! By this am I am down 6 more pounds of fluid! I figure as I get rid of this excess fluid I will feel even better. I was able to sleep all night in bed last night :) I put some waterproof bandaids on and took my first shower in a week!! family is happy :)
My hip feels amazing, still a bit numb though. I am able to walk around the house without my crutches. The Doc just said to use them outside the house and not overdo it. My legs are a bit swollen tonight from doing too much.

Danny had a GREAT first day at school. Woo Hoo!! I can tell he is tired :)

The Bells are Chiming for thee :)

This short video is taken on Oak Bluffs at the Martha's Vineyard Camp Meeting Association Tabernacle:
I guess the kids have never heard church bells :)
Another quick funny from vacation: While walking along the shore Danny, Victoria and I were looking for shells while the other were looking for quohogs. All of a sudden Danny screamed, dropped something and ran! I ran to him and it turns out he had picked up a hermit crab!! Victoria had no problem picking them up and we collected many. Danny was afraid to pick up any shells after that :)

I saw my Dr today for my post surgery follow up and he is very happy with my hip progress. My bandage is off and I have a HUGE bruise and am still swollen. I get the stitches taken out next week when I see him again. He sent me off for a CT to find out why I am having breathing troubles still. After many hours we finally got home (6 hours after we left) to a voicemail that I have Pleural Effusion. The nurse said to let my primary know so she can follow up and if I have any worsening of symptoms over the weekend to go to the ER. No problemo :) So I am really tired as it is hard for me to really sleep comfortably.
Last night was open house at school! Danny starts Monday and Victoria starts Wednesday :) Danny is already acting out with the changes so should be a long weekend and a tough next week. He is a bit afraid of Ms Jeanine, his teacher :)

!@#%%^@$#

I made it through safely! ptl :) :)
Both kids cried when they left me to go to the OR, Danny was just sobbing :(
The Dr was late :( so it started late.
My surgery went well, but took longer than planned - 3 hours and I was intubated.
I woke up in the recovery room shaking so bad, my stomach muscles still hurt today.
My stomach was so swollen and full of gas it hurt.
We did not get home till 4 and had to pick up Danny on the way home.
My throat hurt so bad from the tube, I think that was almost worst than the hip pain.
The Dr told Dan that he got a lot of stuff out and thinks I am going to have a great result!!! woo hoo!!
Both kiddos did not want to leave my side so we all laid down on the bed and I napped while they watched tv. Both kept telling me how much they love me :)
Last night was really rough as I could not get comfortable. I nodded off several times, but woke up at 1:00 not able to catch my breath. I woke Dan up to tell I could not breathe and he had to help me sit up.
I ended up moving into the living room and laying down on the recliner. Once there my hip hurt less but my breathing was still heavy. Lexi slept right next to me the whole rest of the night.
I talked to both my Dr's office and the surgi center several times today and it seems the big problem was the air pushing up on my lungs. I drank some soda which helped me burp :) I am finally feeling so much better :)
I am so glad it is over and see the Dr Friday to have the big bandage removed and the stitches checked. Both kids have been so helpful :) Victoria thinks the crutches are a ladder :)
Thanks for everyone who prayed and send positive thoughts!!

Just back and surgery tomorrow

Just posting a quick update.
We left last Wednesday to go up on a quick visit and met up with my dad and his wife and spent till Sunday sailing around Martha's Vineyard! We had a GREAT time and I took 260 pictures!! Here are just a few pics:

Victoria checking out the boat and getting her boat feet.

Watching the clouds go by with Grampy

fishing off the boat - so cute

Swimming with Grammy

Collecting crabs - so much fun!

Having lots of fun in the dinghy

Danny jumping in the water to Grampy and Dan

This is the ferry we saw going through Woods Hole, can you see the HORSE on the bow??

The family at Quisset Harbor

Having a fun time :)

The flight home at 10:00 pm last night :)

yes - that is an airsick bag :)

I had the steroid shot in my back today(after only 5 hours sleep) and have to be at the surgicenter tomorrow at 7:30 for my 9:30 hip scope. It is supposed to last about 2 hours and I should be able to head home around 1:00 pm.
I did way too much today and am now icing my back. I just HAD to clean the house, get ALL the laundry done, change the Beds and get clothes lined up for tomorrow, plus food all set :) :)
We are so hoping that this will clear up enough pain to allow me to wait 4-5 years for my total hip replacement.
I don't know when I will be able to update next, depends on what kind of pain meds I get :) :)
